Sorry for journal spam!  I'm going to at least try to make this a LITTLE meaningful.

So recently a friend set me up with a new paint program.  It's very different from what I'm used to using, but it's also much more advanced.  I'm going to play around with it for a little.  I haven't had a chance to lately -been CRAZY busy @_@

I'm going through a very thoughtful period in my life... which basically means I've been blowing time that COULD be spent on homework with random, deep thoughts about who I am, what I believe in, and where my life is going.  Oh college.

Yup, it's true.  On this day, nineteen years ago, I was born.  Woot.

Anyway, just another quick update.  I've been busy recently (of course ><) but I've made a promise to myself that I AM going to find time to draw or paint every day, even if it's only for twenty minutes or so (art classes don't count).

Ok, so, as I mentioned in my previous update, I've been working on creature designs.  Well, it's coming along really well so far. I just have to finish up the details for a ref sheet... I'm excited! I can't wait to show you guys what I've got brewing here, so, naturally, I had to have a sneak peak. i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg…

This is just a tiny preview of all the sketches I've done of this creature... my classmates are starting to become familiar with it, they've seen me doodling it so much!

Anyway, life sucks, life is good, and we'll all float on alright.

It's about that time again, my fellow deviants.  I try not to plague you all too badly with random journals, but we need a bit of an update.

So here's life at the moment:

Grades are coming up, thankfully.  Somehow, I feel different than I did last semester.  The work is harder and there's more of it, but it's somehow easier to keep on top of it.  Maybe it's just a first-semester-freshmen thing, but college is going better now.

In case some of you haven't noticed, I've been given a subscription by a friend of mine in hopes that I can further expand my skills and talents in the artistic world.  To my patron, thank you for the gift. I hope I won't disappoint :]

I've changed jobs, which is pretty awesome so far.  Last semester I worked at a senior day-care.  This semester, I'm working at Boys and Girls Club of America, which is already far more meaningful to me.  I'm loving it so far -these kids want me to teach them to draw! High score!

Now then, ART:

I'm currently in a figure drawing class, drawing from live models.  The reason why I wanted this class was because I felt as though I'd reached the limit of what I could do on my own as far as drawing the human figure went.  I knew that in order to improve, I'd have to get real instruction, and so far that theory is proving correct.  The class is pleasingly challenging, and I can already see some minor improvements.

As you might have guessed from a recent deviation of sneak peeks, I have a few paintings in the works right now.  I'm working on them in my spare time, and hopefully I'll get them uploaded for you guys.

The most exciting thing that I have to tell you guys right now is that I have some pretty interesting creature concept sketches that are as original as I can make them.  I'm really liking them so far, so I'll be trying to put some digital copies of them up here soon.  I'm really excited about this... ^^

Anyway!  It's raining a lot, I want it to stop. And that's life.
